SILMO Paris 2018, a salon oriented to the optical-eyewear sector, opens its doors today, September 28 to October 1 in the Parc des Expositions of Paris Nord Villepinte.
The fair brings together professionals from the optics sector from around the world in an exhibition and business space that has become a lever for exhibitors and a space to give visibility to the entire optical-eyewear sector.
The 2018 edition promises to be successful, as 108 new companies have registered.

Thanks to SILMO Next, the Paris show will once again become the event that leads the way in the optics sector. It will do so by highlighting new opportunities for all interested agents and becoming a global space that gathers all the elements that contribute to give a prospective light of the market. The Selection: exhibition of fashion articles presented in the form of a scenographic forum
Trends by SILMO: this is a digital magazine designed as a trend book
Futurologie: is a new space that aims to present to the optical sector the products and processes of the future and create collaborations between various agents to promote new markets. In this first year, the Futurologie space highlights products and new companies around four main themes: sports, wellness and health, entertainment and additive manufacturing. Garmin, McLaren, Materialize, Everysight, 5th Dimension, LightVision, Microoled, Atol and Cinemizer stand out among the companies that will hold conferences on these aspects.

SILMO d’Or

The president of the jury this year is Belgian interior designer Michel Penneman, internationally recognized for his hotel renovations. He is a professional passionate about conceptual architecture, who creates his projects around a story. Michel Penneman is never locked in a particular style, but adapts to the spirit of the places to decorate and furnish them. In addition, he is particularly interested in the lights and transparencies that structure the spaces.
Eclectic and curious, Michel Penneman accepted without hesitation to be President of the Jury of the Silmo d’Or 2018 awards and has been enthusiastic about the possibility that this position will offer him as far as discovering new creations and innovations.
