Fundación Multiópticas and EcodesarrolloGaia finish their solidarity work in Senegal for the second consecutive year
Volunteers from both organizations have attended the visual health of the Yoff-Tonghor population for two weeks
During the development of the action 2000 units of glasses have been delivered, between graduated and sun glasses, as well as 60 hearing aids.

This week, volunteers from Fundación Multiópticas and de EcodesarrolloGaia have returned from their stay in Senegal, who for two weeks have been attending the look of 2000 Senegalese.

Thanks to the exhaustive work carried out by volunteer professionals, the most frequent visual pathologies in the area have been identified: hyperopia, presbyopia, high myopia, elevated astigmatism and strabismus, in addition to pterygium cataract and trachoma in children. Likewise, through the examinations and auditory tests carried out, many patients who suffer from hearing loss from a very early age have been detected, probably due to diseases or infections that were not treated at the time.

Likewise, with the aim of focusing on prevention and transferring the people attended to some advice to follow so that they can contribute to preserve their visual health, emphasis has been placed on hygienic and eye care guidelines.
